Company description
SynOptics Communications was a pioneering computer network equipment vendor based in California. In its prime, the company was the leading provider of Ethernet LAN hubs and popularized the use of high-speed Ethernet networking over copper and fiber optic cables. In 1994, SynOptics merged with Wellfleet Communications to form Bay Networks. The company was founded in 1985 by Andrew Ludwick and Ronald Schmidt.
