Left one alloy in for refurb on a Monday. The boss quoted me £80. Said it would be ready by Wednesday or Thursday. Heard nothing so rang on Thursday. Was told “I’ll check it out and call you right back “ No call back! Went back down on Friday. The boss was most apologetic about nobody calling me back as promised. Then told me the wheel would be ready by Monday or Tuesday of the next week. Waited patiently but heard nothing by Tuesday so went down again. Was told it wouldn’t be ready till Thursday. Finally got my refurbed alloy back on the Thursday afternoon (8 working days after leaving it in). When I went to pay for it the guy said “That’s £85.” I said the boss quoted me £80 when I left it in. He said the boss isn’t here but I’ll ring him, which he did. When he hung up he said It’s £85.” With reluctance I forked out the extra fiver. After all the delays and failed return calls and apologies by the boss it would surely have been good customer relations and a test of his sincerity to have knocked off a couple of quid instead of whacking on an extra fiver above the original quote. First time at Thompson’s Tyres, Banbridge and obviously my last time. Just one plus point, the refurbed alloy looks OK, so thanks to the person who did it.
