Mayfield Integrated Community Development Project - Cork

We aim to respond to local needs by the provision of support, training and developmental opportunities to individuals and groups in the community. We work with people in a non-discriminatory way and encourage everyone to reach their full potential in a safe, open, friendly and accessible environment. Mayfield Community Development Project Ltd (Mayfield CDP) was established in 1990 when funding for Community Development was made available by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs.

When the Project began, office space was rented in Newbury House Family Centre and work began on developing responses to needs which had been identified. The Project continued to grow over the years and extra staff was employed. In December 2001 a bungalow at 328 Old Youghal Road went on the

market and this time the vendors were willing to sell it to us, subject to planning permission for change of use being granted to the CDP. This property was particularly suitable being just across the road from Newbury House.
