Job vacancy Assistant logistics manager

Storm Recruitment is currently in search of an Assistant logistics manager to join their client in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. EUR 40,000 to EUR 48,500
Mon Fri 9am-5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the execution of freight and customs operations adhering to established high standards.
• Maintain excellent communication with customers and suppliers.
• Uphold meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Oversee operations for air, road, and short sea, collaborating closely with an experienced customs team to ensure seamless transit.
• Understand and identify requirements for each service request from customers.
• Determine the best service provider for customer requests.
• Regularly communicate updates to customers and service providers.
• Take responsibility for shipments from booking to delivery, managing import/export documentation.
• Populate and update the Azyra freight system with relevant information (KPI).

IT:

• Administer the main TMS (Transport Management System)/Accounting Software Azyra.
• Collaborate with Group IT (France) and External IT (Locally based) for IT issues.
• Facilitate new employee onboarding and setting up IT systems.

Customs Operations:

• Collect all necessary paperwork for each shipment and ensure documentation is in Azyra.
• Allocate clearances to operators based on experience.
• Delegate clearances to the customs team, actively listening to their feedback.
• Ensure customs processes do not impact operations or service.
• Motivate and support the team consistently.

Knowledge:
•TMS (Azyra), Thyme IT, Ros (Taric), regulatory requirements for customs documentation, Excel reporting.

Requirements:

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient in MS Suite, especially Excel.
• IT-savvy.
• Fluent in English.
• Prior exposure to the Freight Forwarding/Logistics sector is essential.
• Air/express freight forwarding experience is desirable.
• Understanding of customs clearance procedures in freight forwarding.
• Customs clearance experience is desirable.
