Storm Recruitment is currently seeking an EH&S Coordinator to join our clients team located in Naas, Co. Kildare. The primary objective of this position is to provide support to the EHS Manager in overseeing all aspects of Environment, Health, and Safety at the Naas site.

Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will:

  • Foster a robust health and safety culture within the workplace by managing a comprehensive near-miss and hazard reporting system. Continually engage with the EHS manager and other department representatives in monitoring and overseeing the reporting system.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, manage the audit program on-site, and prepare reports. Implement corrective and preventive measures and collaborate with key department representatives to address highlighted issues. Assist the EHS manager in preparing for external compliance audits.
  • Identify and schedule safety-related training requirements, ensuring timely delivery of all mandatory training. Develop and distribute health and safety communications, such as toolbox talks and safety alerts, aiming for continuous improvement. Maintain an accurate training matrix to document and record all training.
  • Manage emergency preparedness arrangements across the site, encompassing areas like fire safety, chemical safety, and work-related vehicles.
  • Promptly investigate, record, and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Ensure swift implementation of corrective actions.
  • Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures, work instructions, and the company safety statement.
  • Support the engineering department in overseeing the contractor management program. Provide training on contractor requirements to all contractor managers, update contractor information, and audit approved contractors and their activities. Review safety documentation for compliance with site and legal requirements.
  • Update daily safety management statistics for the senior management team to identify improvement opportunities and current trends.

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:

  • 3rd level Degree in Health and Safety.
  • Preferably 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Manual Handling Instructor.
  • Train the Trainer.
  • Occupational First Aider.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate safety procedures and regulations clearly to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in computer applications and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent administrative and literacy skills for compiling and producing reports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Assertiveness and the ability to consult with departmental managers to enforce the law when necessary.
